Our Story

The journey of Myin Thar Myo Oo Monastic Education School & Youth Development Charity Home began with a simple aspiration—to create educational opportunities and brighter futures for children who have limited access to education.

In 1993, Venerable Bhaddanta Kusala founded Myint Thar Myo Oo Monastic Education School with just 25 students. The school was established with the purpose of providing educational opportunities for children whose access to learning was limited by family circumstances and other challenges, while also nurturing positive moral values.

From the very beginning, we have been committed not only to providing academic education but also to helping our students develop the discipline, responsibility, moral character, and spirit of contributing positively to society that are essential for life.

Over the years, the school has steadily grown. In addition to expanding its educational services, it has developed into a supportive learning community that also provides accommodation, meals, and essential care for students who come from remote areas to pursue their education.

What began with 25 students has grown into an institution that now provides educational opportunities for more than 1,700 students. Today, the school offers education from Kindergarten (KG) to Grade 9 and continues to support the educational, social, and personal development of young people while helping them build the knowledge and skills they need for their future.

Throughout this journey, one belief has remained at the heart of our work: every child possesses unique strengths, abilities, and the potential to build a brighter future.

Guided by this belief, Myint Thar Myo Oo Monastic Education School remains committed to creating better life opportunities through education, nurturing responsible young people, and helping develop a new generation that can make meaningful contributions to society.
